My Story

I’m Cécilia Jourdan, a French-American entrepreneur and educator who sees language as a doorway to identity, curiosity, and self-discovery. Born in Paris and now splitting my time between France and New York City, I am trilingual and endlessly fascinated by how the words we speak shape who we become. I studied linguistics at NYU and Romance languages at Hunter College, combining my academic background with experience in performing arts and digital storytelling to create learning experiences that feel both creative and deeply human.

In 2020, my wife and I co-founded Hello French to make the process of learning French feel modern, inclusive, and connected to real life. What began as a social media side project has evolved into a community of over two million learners around the world. Through my content, e-guides, meetups, and coaching, I help people not only speak French but uncover new sides of themselves through its mindset, humor, and emotion. My approach encourages vulnerability and authenticity, showing that language learning can be both personal and profoundly communal. By turning social media, often criticized for its vanity and superficiality, into a space for shared growth and genuine exchange, I aim to demonstrate how digital platforms can nurture cultural dialogue and real connection.

Together with my wife and creative partner, I also run J&P, a creative studio specializing in branding, storytelling, and design for mission-driven brands. Our work helps creators and companies express who they are with clarity, depth, and cultural awareness.
