Civic entrepreneur, founder of Project Liberty, Executive Chairman of McCourt Global & owner of l'Olympique de Marseille.
My Story
I am a civic entrepreneur, the founder of Project Liberty, and the executive chairman of McCourt Global. I’m proud to continue my family’s 132-year legacy of building infrastructure and delivering strong financial outcomes while staying committed to meaningful social impact.

Project Liberty is a $500 million initiative dedicated to creating solutions that strengthen human agency and help people flourish in an AI-driven world. In 2024, I launched The People’s Bid for TikTok, a grassroots effort to purchase and redesign the platform to give users greater individual control and accountability. The initiative has drawn support from leaders including Alexis Ohanian, Governor Spencer Cox, Tim Berners-Lee, and Jonathan Haidt. Project Liberty also includes the Project Liberty Institute, created with founding partners Georgetown University, Stanford University, and ETH Zurich, to advance research, connect technologists and social scientists, and develop governance models for the next era of the internet.

As a proud Georgetown University alumnus, I’ve served on its Board of Directors for many years. In 2013, I made a $100 million founding investment to establish the McCourt School of Public Policy, and in 2021, I expanded that commitment with an additional $100 million gift to build an inclusive leadership pipeline and move the school toward becoming tuition-free.

I own Olympique de Marseille and previously owned the Los Angeles Dodgers. Throughout my career, I’ve led major real estate development projects, from Boston’s Seaport to large mixed-use developments in New York, Dallas, Phoenix, and London.

I am also the author of Our Biggest Fight and a proud father of eight.
